like idk in general i can’t judge a movie i haven’t seen but it is 100% possible and fair to draw a line and and say “i don’t care about whatever artistry or craft went into this because the premise is fucking repulsive” and i have to draw it here

im not going to take a movie made by a major U.S. studio using 100 mil a quarter of white hollywood and an action blockbuster style marketing campaign* about how the US came to be able to massacre people — on a scale that makes “massacre” sound like a euphemism — seriously as a work of cinema

i’d rather go see the day the clown cried at my local AMC opening night and spend $20 on top of the ticket on popcorn in a limited edition the day the clown cried bucket and a frozen cola in an XL limited edition the day the clown cried cup, right next to barbie

*including a dramatic countdown to the date and time of the trinity detonation and trailers debuting right before… guardians of the galaxy 3, the one where a cgi raccoon listens to radiohead. shocked they didn’t use “bad guy” as a trailer song
